SAFETY
DO NOT PLAIN ANY BOARD LESS THAN 6 INCHES LONG – IT WILL COME BACK AT YOU
Keep fingers away from cutterhead. Common safety practices in place.
- No plaining of painted wood.
- No plaining of damp construction wood.
- No plaining of MDF or Plywood.
Alignment
Raise and lower plainer to meet board thickness with wheel. Clockwise raises the bed, shrinking the aperture of cutting space. Counterclockwise lowers the bed, growing the aperture.
No other setting needs to be changed in regular use. Remember, if it has a nob or a slide it’s fine to move – a screw, not so much.
Technique
Insert stock and lower or raise cutterhead to grip the board, then use the wheel to back off the wood, then send through. Always use dust collection with this tool.
